A FOUR-year-old girl tragically lost her life after she was struck by a van at Neston on Friday.
Police received a report of a collision between a van and pedestrian in Gladstone Road just after midday.
The young girl sustained serious injuries and was treated at the scene before being taken to Arrowe Park Hospital where she has since sadly died.
The driver of the van – a 62-year-old man - has been taken to hospital to be checked.
The road was closed while emergency services worked at the scene - it has since reopened.
Cheshire Police said the girl's family have been informed of the tragedy.
Her identity has not been disclosed by the authorities.
Inquiries are ongoing and anyone with any information is urged to call Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 345 of January 15.
