A WIRRAL man has been charged with drug offences following police raids across Merseyside on Thursday morning.

Michael Johnson, 29, of Bullrush Drive, Moreton, has been charged with conspiracy to produce cannabis.

He has been bailed to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on December 31.

Six men and one woman were arrested during the operation, which was led by detectives from the Matrix Serious and Organised Crime team (MSOC) and saw raids carried out in Wallasey, Garston, Leasowe and Halewood.

Matthew Robert Courtney, aged 22, of Ebrington Street, Garston has been charged with possession with intent to supply a Class A drug (cocaine) and money laundering.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court today, Friday.

A 32-year-old man from Halewood, a 28-year old man from Wallasey, a 24-year-old man from Garston and a 61-year-old man from Garston, arrested for conspiracy to supply Class A controlled drugs, have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

An 18-year-old woman from Page Moss arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply controlled drugs and money laundering has been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Seven properties were searched as part of the investigation.
