THE hardwork and innovation of Wirral surgeries has been recognised in the National GP Practice Awards.
The awards recognise, highlight and reward the hard work and innovation that gets carried out every day in surgeries up and down the UK.
West Wirral Group Practice won nurse of the year, with Heather Lomas taking the prestigious title.
Muhammad Ahmed, from Teehey Lane Medical Centre in Bebington, was named practice manager of the year.
TCG Medical was shortlisted for GP Practice Team of the year.
Eric Balki, director of TCG Medical Service, said: "Being a relatively young organisation we are absolutely delighted that we were nominated by our staff and patients for the excellent work we have been doing at TG Medical Centre at West Kirby, Leasowe Medical Practice in Leasowe and Woodchurch Medical Centre in Woodchurch.
“I am overall extremely delighted to see so much innovation coming out of Wirral despite the difficult circumstances that we find ourselves in, with diminishing budgets and more being expected.
“We have some of the best GP Practices in the country and I am glad this was acknowledged in the GP Practice Awards of 2015.”
