TRANMERE Rovers' boss Gary Brabin is confident his squad has the quality to bring home more goals as their National League campaign continues.

The club entertain Guiseley at Prenton Park on Saturday.

Last weekend a converted corner just before the half-time interval saw Rovers suffer their second away league defeat of the season as they lost to Lincoln City.

Tranmere are now six points off the play-offs. With only one win in their last eight games, Brabin says now is the time to start scoring goals.

In a press conference at the club this afternoon he said: "We want to play at home, love playing at home and we want to be turning the results better in our favour.

"There has to be a psychological element behind it; we're on the front foot, want to win.

"I can think of a couple of games where we've possibly left ourselves a little bit exposed at the back in desperation to get that goal and we end up losing a game or drawing.

"It's something that we need to get to grips with.

"It's a while since we've played at home. Everybody's looking forward to it and hopefully we can get the right result."

On his squad's performance he said: "We've got some quality players that are capable of scoring goals.

"There's a good result around the corner. We're getting the balance in the side and looking to improve aspects as we go along. We seem to improve in one area and lose another.

"On the back of an excellent away result at Forest Green, we ended up being beaten in our last two league games.

"We had a disappointing result at home and again at Lincoln.

"At the end of the day, people judge you on results and rightly so, I'm not hiding behind that.

"I'm disappointed with results. But I've seen enough from our performances to know that we're headed in the right direction.

"We've got the third best defensive record in the league and we've got some quality players who are more than capable of scoring goals and creating chances.

"There's a group of lads who believe in what we're doing, there's a good result around the corner.

"Hopefully we can get a good result and kick on from there."

Assessing this weekend's opponents - who were beaten 4-1 by Eastleigh at the weekend - Brabin said: "They're a good side, one that we won't be taking on lightly.

"They have had some good results this season and try to play the right football. We won't be blighted by results.

"We are going to relish this game on Saturday. The lads are looking forward to playing at home."
