A WIRRAL-based writer and blogger who champions the curvaceous female form has been nominated in the prestigious "British Plus Size Awards" alongside her husband.

Betty Pamper, from West Kirby, is up for best plus size blog and best plus size fashion blog, while husband Nicky Rockets is nominated for best designer for his work on his plus size t-shirt business 'Nicky Rockets'.

Mother-of-one Betty - whose blog "Pamper and Curves" won last year - said she was delighted to be nominated again.

The daily blog is vintage-inspired and celebrates fashion and make up for curvy ladies as well as interior decorating, lifestyle and wrok.

From small beginnings five years ago, the blog has now grown to become a real community and is read by thousands of women every week.

She said: "I was so delighted when I received the call to say I had been shortlisted. I know my blog is a huge inspiration to many, many plus size women as they regularly tweet and email me to tell me but to receive this kind of national recognition really takes it to the next level and I am so grateful."

Nicky was equally delighted to discover his t-shirt designs which feature his drawings of rubensque women had earnt him a shortlisted spot.

He said: "Working as a designer in the North West over the last few years hasn’t been that easy but it just goes to show that if you keep on striving to produce amazing clothes that are available for all women of any shape or size you will eventually get a seat at the table."

The couple will find out if they have won at a lavish ceremony hosted by TV's Jeff Brazier at London's Grand Connaught Rooms at the weekend.

The awards recognise those who have broken barriers in the plus size industry.

Other nominees include Strictly Come Dancing's Lisa Riley, funny men Peter Kay and Johnny Vegas and fashion retails including Primark, Asos and Matalan.
