A BIRKENHEAD man has pleaded guilty to possessing more than 5,500 indecent images of children.
Keith Grundy, of Elmswood Road, was in the dock at Wirral magistrates’ court on Thursday.
The 57-year-old admitted six charges relating to both downloading and possessing indecent images of children, some of which are in the most extreme category.
In total, Grundy had 5,650 indecent images on his laptop, USB drive and CDs – 69 of them were in category A, the most serious.
A further 80 images fall in category B and 5,501 in category C.
He also admitted a charge of possessing an extreme pornographic image.
Grundy will be sentenced at Liverpool Crown Court on November 26.
He was released on conditional bail until that date.
He must live and sleep at Elmswood Road and have no unsupervised access to children under the age of 18.
