WIRRAL actress Suzanne Collins is among the cast of a new film that will be screened in Liverpool next week.
Softlad, written and directed by Leon Lopez, will be shown at FACT Cinema in Wood Street on Tuesday (October 12) at 6pm. It will be followed by a short question and answer session.
Suzanne - whose daughter Mia has a cameo in role - told the Globe: "It's a story of love, lust and deceit with terrible consequences.
"We really hope people of Wirral will come and support us when the film is shown in Liverpool on Tuesday."
The story is about David who is 22 and has it all.
He's just got into the prestigious dance school of his dreams.
But he has a secret. For two years he's been sleeping with his sister's husband, Jules.
After an argument between the two lovers, David throws himself into a one-night stand with Sam, a casual encounter which fast becomes something much stronger.
Unable to express his feelings to anyone, Jules is slowly driven mad by his secret desire for David, and jealous of his newfound, public relationship.
When David's sister, Jane, insists he brings his new boyfriend over for dinner, Jules snaps, revealing in turn a secret which none of them can ignore.
Its Liverpool screening is part of a tour that has included showings in Indonesia, Thailand, London, Manchester, Edinburgh, Cheshire Oaks and Leeds.
On appearing in the film, Suzanne told the Globe: "I feel really lucky to play the female lead alongside Daniel Brocklebank, who plays the vicar in Coronation Street and EastEnders' newcomer Jonny Labey.
"We shot it in just one week, very ambitious for a feature film but we did it!
"We filmed In locations in Birmingham, Leeds, Liverpool, Wirral and our very own New Brighton.
"Our budget was less than £20,000 and it really was a labour of love, 17 hour days but it's all paid off."
The film is being distributed by Peccadillo Films and will be released on DVD in November.
