HOYLAKE’S “Fro-Yo” queen is celebrating the launch of her new borough-wide delivery service just weeks before celebrating her company's second anniversary.

Stephanie Hodson opened the Yog Bar on Market Street in November 2013 to offer a healthier alternative to fatty and calorific ice-cream.

Since then, the business – which was Wirral’s first ever frozen yoghurt bar – has gone from strength to strength.

Both Steph and younger sister Charlotte – who have held titles including Miss Northwest, Miss Cheshire and Europe’s Miss Perfect – have put their heart and soul into the business and it has certainly paid off.

Qualified pilates instructor Steph, who holds regular classes in Hoylake, has accomplished a lot in her 27 years – including appearing on Paddy McGuinness’s ‘Take Me Out’ – but the Yog Bar is one of her proudest achievements.

“We’ve just filed our first year’s accounts and our turnover was around £100,000 so for a first year business set up by someone without a business background, I’m really pleased with what we’ve achieved,” said Steph, from Upton.

Wirral Globe:

“It’s almost two years now since we opened and we’ve just launched our Wirral-wide delivery service with the van because we were getting people asking if we delivered to certain places.”

The new delivery service uses a freezer van that can keep its contents at -18C.

Frozen yoghurt, or ‘Fro-Yo’ as it is known, offers a ‘health treat’ to people of all ages.

Flavours range from natural Greek to chocolate yoghurts and toppings include a healthy range of fruit and nuts to naughtier options like Oreo cookies, Nutella and chocolate brownies.

Dairy-free and vegan products are also available and for those who don’t like yoghurts, smoothies are also an option.

Wirral Globe:

Steph opened the Yog Bar after spending 18 months researching the market. She is now looking forward to expanding the business further.

“Coming up to our two year anniversary we’re going to do a small rebrand but we want to keep it quite fun.

“We’ll be doing Yogtails soon and juices because there’s a high demand for people who a lactose intolerant or mums who want to be super healthy while their kids have a treat."
