A MAN has been arrested after he was seen chasing a woman with a knife down a Wallasey street.
People living nearby described seeing "heavy police prescence" in the Clarendon Road and Seabank Road area on Wednesday evening.
Merseyside Police was called at around 8.40pm after reports of a man - who was in possession of a bladed weapon - chasing a woman outside an address.
The 46-year-old man was arrested a short time later for affray, on suspicion of theft and possession of an offensive weapon.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: "No-one was injured during this incident and the man remains in police custody."
