FIREFIGHTERS are tackling a large blaze at a house in Wallasey.
Emergency services were called to the property on Penkett Road shortly after 12.20pm today, Friday.
Five people were out of the property when firefighters arrived.
A man was taken to hospital and treated for burns on his hand.
Other people involved in the incident were treated at the scene by paramedics.
Three fire engines and an aerial appliance were at the scene, with two teams of firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus tackling the blaze.
A spokesman for Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was on the middle floor and ground floor bathroom.
The road was closed while crews dealt with the blaze.
Three fire engines remain at the scene and damping down operations are being carried out.
