A WIRRAL man wrote a carefully crafted goodbye letter to his family before taking his own life, an inquest heard.
The body of 25-year-old factory worker John Gallagher was found at his flat in Harrogate Road, Birkenhead, by brother-in-law Craig Cobb on May 11 this year.
An inquest held in Liverpool today heard a police statement from Mr Cobb in which he said he had called at the flat at 9pm that night but there was no reply.
He had also tried to contact Mr Gallagher by mobile phone.
He then went to get a spare door key from Mr Gallagher’s mother and returned, whereupon he discovered the deceased and called the police.
An investigation found no evidence of third-party involvement or any suspicious circumstances.
Coroner Andre Rebello said a letter left by Mr Gallagher was ‘"very, very carefully crafted, caring and considerate" to his family.
Mr Rebello concluded: “He put himself in this position to end his life. John died by his own hand. We will never know the reasons for this."
