ENTRIES are now being taken for the 22nd annual Hoylake 10K Coastal charity fun run.

Taking place on Sunday, September 20, the Globe-backed event raises funds for a special needs club in the town.

It starts outside Hoylake Community Centre in Hoyle Road at 11am.

Proceeds go to the Wednesday Special Needs Club's Soft Play Sensory Resource, which is based at the centre.

Last year 651 took part, raising around £9,000 for the cause.

Race secretary Carla Williams told the Globe: "The 10k is terribly important to the club as it is our major fundraiser and all the funds raised from the event go towards the Sensory Resource's upkeep and maintenance, which is maintained by a small group of enthusiastic volunteers.

"This special facility is maintained and funded by volunteers from the Wednesday Club

"This event is the club's major fundraiser and we really need your support to be able to continue maintaining and running this important community resource."
