Detectives in Wirral are appealing for the public’s help after an iPad and documents belonging to two charities were stolen from a house in Wallasey.

The owner of the property on Upper Rice Lane returned home at around midnight last Thursday to find his house had been ransacked.

It is believed thieves entered the property sometime between 6pm and midnight and made off with items including a laptop bag with documents belonging to two charities – Wirral Cultural Diversity Group and Wirral African Caribbean Community Voice.

An iPad containing photographs belonging to the charities were also taken.

Officers attended the scene and forensic examinations were carried out.

House-to-house inquiries have been carried out and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident is continuing.

Detective Constable Jackie Cleaver said: “These items would not mean anything to anyone else but mean a great deal to the charities if they are found.

“We would appeal to anyone who might have witnessed anyone acting suspiciously on or around Upper Rice Lane on the evening of Thursday, July 16, to contact us.

“I’d also ask members of the public to be on the lookout in case they are, or have been, offered the iPad for sale either on the street or in pubs or have seen the item for sale on the internet."

Anyone who has any information should  call Wirral CID on 0151 777 2265 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
