WHEN a show's opening number sounds like a finale you know the production is already a smash-hit...a standing ovation before you've even sat down.

Mam! I'm 'Ere! is a fabulous, fun-filled, feel-good show for all ages. It's your ticket to smile.

Wirral Globe:

Getting ready to have a whale of a time

The musical magically flies by. And why? Because the Royal Court have built-up a repartee between cast and audience that would be the envy of any theatre.

No Abba songs here, but I assure you the winner (the audience) takes it all.

It is a simple plot with affectionate nods to the stage and film phenomenon Mamma Mia!

Sally (Rachael Rae) is getting married to Si (Michael Fletcher). So it's a Si of relief when true love runs smooth-ish.

When writer/director and actor Stephen Fletcher penned this production he was pleased when the show had been given a creative blessing from the Mama Mia production team.

Stephen brought together a cracking crew that make you sing and tap along to disco classics. Just reading the cast list in the excellent programme notes shows what home-grown talent Merseyside produces.

Andrew Schofield is as sparkling as the Glitterball that hangs over the aisles. Eithne Browne, one of our much-loved stars, belts out disco numbers and then can soften the mood by presenting lovely dialogue with such tenderness.

The story revolves around the three women having a whale of a time while believing they have won a competition to a Welsh campsite.

Mike Walters' set is superb....it brought me back not only to caravan holidays in Rhyl, but my joyous disco days (and daze) in the She Club.

The songs are delivered with such enthusiasm from the white-clad super divas that you feel you are at a party in someone's house.

Hayley and Jamie Hampson are two divas who should audition for Britain's Got Talent. I'd vote for this dynamic duo.

The songs - a soundtrack to so many lives - are backed by a faultless on-stage band.

The dancers made me feel exhausted just watching them.

The cast need a name-check Julie (Helen Carter) Alf (Paul Duckworth) Barry ( Alan Stocks) and Mandy (Kenny Sutton) who all know they are in a celebration if nostalgia and we are all invited.

It is a show that says come and let your hair down and listen to Wishing on A Star, the Chi-lites Have You Seen Her? and The Love I Lost.

This show started out on a smallish scale at the Dome in Renshaw Street. It is home now in the Royal Court for the next five weeks
