STAFF at Scottish Power's branch in Prenton have had a special visit from a guide dog puppy they helped to name.
Denki, whose name is Japanese for electricity, popped in to thank those responsible for his sponsorship, the former members of the Manweb Benevolent Society.
They had organised a competition to name the five-month-old and the winner was chosen by Naomi Kishigami, from the Operations team in Energy Networks, the business responsible for running the network across the whole of North Wales and the North West of England.
After the visit, a spokesman for the company said: "Denki was a real hit with staff at the office, which is the headquarters for all the electricity network in the region. A decision was made to distribute funds to local charities following the dissolution of the Manweb Benevolent Society and ScottishPower sought practical projects that could benefit from the donations."
The fund, which has helped many hundreds of people over the years, was set up in 1959 to help Manweb employees, past and present and their dependents for any welfare issues.
Employees contributed to the fund on a monthly basis and this was matched by the company.
"Denki was a real hit with staff at the office."
