VISITORS to a Wirral shopping centre put their creative talents to the test by making a community quilt for Mental Health Awareness Week.

It was the brainchild of Wirral Community NHS Trust’s Livewell team, who promote creativity as a great way of being mindful.

A number of local residents and shoppers visited the team at Cherry Tree Shopping Centre in Liscard and showed their creative sides by crafting their own, individual squares.

Each square signified and celebrated the importance of community, through the symbols of hands and hearts, and the bringing together of colours, shapes and textures.

A range of materials and fabrics were used, and each square was then sewn together to make one larger, vibrant and colourful quilt.

The quilt is now on display at the Cherry Tree Shopping Centre and will remain there for the public to view over the next couple of weeks.
