MEET Daisy-Duke and Charlie – the latest additions at a popular Wirral farm.

The two Shetland Ponies arrived at Tam O’Shanter Urban Farm, in Bidston, earlier this month.

They “replaced” Jacko the donkey - who had been at the farm for 18 years – and his girlfriend Stella, who “retired” for pastures new in April.

Jacko and Stella moved to a donkey sanctuary in Devon, which is where Daisy-Duke and Charlie first heard about Tam O’Shanter.

A note on their new enclosure reads: “We were on holiday in Devon and we met Jacko and Stella. We got talking and mentioned we were looking for a new place to live.

“Jacko mentioned that they had come from a fantastic urban farm in Bidston where he enjoyed living for 18 years meeting people every day and the staff on the farm looked after them so well.

“This sounded perfect to us and there was no need to trundle around estate agents or surf the web for places to live.”

Ranger Mark Robertson told the Globe both Charlie and Daisy-Duke are settling in really well.

“The group that work on the farm during the week who have disabilities have bonded with them very well and groom them every day,” said Mark.

“Jacko and Stella are doing very well and enjoying their retirement in Devon and we’ll be keeping people updated on their progress here on the farm.”

In other farm-related news, pigs Ruby and Alison have each given birth to seven adorable piglets.
