THE long and hopefully hot summer lies ahead, so probably the last thing you will be thinking about is pantomimes.

But tickets are now on sale for the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse's festive offering, rock 'n' roll panto Rapunzel: Hairway to Heaven.

It will be staged at the Hope Street venue from November 28 to January 23.

Written by Sarah A Nixon and Mark Chatterton, it is based on the Brothers Grimm's tale and while you can expect a heroine with long flowing locks and a gallant Prince, the traditional story may get a little 'Tangled' along the way.

With a live band, plenty of belly laughs and more than a few surprises Rapunzel is billed as the perfect festive treat.

Its multi-talented cast will sing, dance, entertain and play music live and are sure to make the show a great night out for all ages.

Everyman and Playhouse's artistic director Gemma Bodinetz said: "Our much-loved rock'n'roll panto is famous for fantastical plots, hilarious puns, dazzling singing and musicianship, all wrapped up in a magical bundle of joyous anarchy. It is as much a party as a show."

Tickets are from the box office on 0151 709 4776 or www.everymanplayhouse.com
