WIRRAL South MP Alison McGovern has been appointed Shadow City Minister following her re-election earlier this month.
Ms McGovern was previously Shadow Minister for Children and Families.
Following her return to parliament with a hugely increased majority in the General Election, Ms McGovern has been promoted to Labour’s parliamentary frontbench team and will now join the party’s treasury team.
In a tweet yesterday, she said: “Small announcement: pleased to be joining shadow Treasury team as shadow City Minister. Thanks to all who I worked with before the election.”
