STAN Boardman appears at New Brighton Pavilion this Saturday with his first ever "An audience with..." show.

The evening will be a multi-media experience with his greatest TV clips from The Comedians to his infamous appearance on The Des O'Connor Show, where he made national news.

Here, just for the Wirral Globe, he exclusively reveals behind the scenes moments about Stan the Man.

Globe: Stan, who would you hate to be stuck in a lift with?

Stan: A Man United fan or my accountant. Oh, and Cyril Smith.

Globe: Who would you like to have around for a dinner party?

Stan: Morecambe and Wise and Norman Wisdom. And without doubt Merseyside football legends like Roger Hunt and Alan Ball....and maybe Oliver Reed.

Globe: Who do you most admire?

Stan: Lily, my mum, who brought us all up eight kids in a working-class life. With no spin-dryer! An amazing woman and a wonderful mother.

Globe: What are you working on at the moment?

Stan: A few brand new plays. I don't have any regrets so I try and have a go at things to push myself. I did a play called Wags. I have been in a film and I've done some documentaries. I record CDs and I write on subjects I am passionate about such as focusing on Help For Heroes. I am a very optimistic person

Globe: You say there is a no-holds-barred question and answer session Can the audience ask you literally anything?

Stan: Yes. But I do the jokes. I will present a family show...no bad language and nothing rude, it is a celebration of comedy. I want Globe readers to ask me anything they want.

Globe: Wha's your favourite tipple and your favourite food?

Stan: I like the odd pint of lager or bitter and really enjoy a full English breakfast. Hang on. Make that a full Scouse breakfast.

Globe: What would your ideal day be?

Stan: Get up at 11am. Go to Anfield to see the Reds beat Man United six-nil. Two hat-tricks from Stevie Gerard. Then have a pint with my mates.

Globe: Do think there is an after life?

Stan: Yes I will come back as a tin of ReinCarnation Milk.

Globe: What has been your happiest moment?

Stan: Being in The Wirral Globe. No. Shankly winning the FA Cup in 1965.

Globe: What would you like inscribed on your tombstone?

Stan: "He was a good man to be in the trenches with."

Globe: And your motto?

Stan: Still tickets left.

Globe: Finally, if you could turn back the clock, where would you go?

Stan: Twelve years ago when I had my three best mates around. Yeah, I miss them.

Globe: Okay, one more...What's your favourite gag?

Stan: I"ll do it on Saturday!
