POLICE have re-issued an appeal to help catch a hit-and-run driver who left an elderly woman needing hospital treatment.

The incident took place last Thursday, at 10am, on Gorsey Lane at its junction with Willow Close in  Wallasey, when the pensioner was struck by what was described as a "dark coloured car."

The woman was taken to hospital where she was treated for a head injury.

Police are urging the driver or anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them on 0151 777 5747 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
