A MAN was left in hospital after he was repeatedly punched by a teenager as he lay on the floor outside Bargain Booze in Wallasey.
The assault took place on Victoria Road at around 7pm on Sunday.
Emergency services were called by a member of the public and the 46-year-old man was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital.
His condition is described as stable.
Footage posted on social media appears to show the man headbutt one of the youths, before he then retaliates and repeatedly punches him on the ground.
It is not known what happened in the moments before the altercation between the two.
A full investigation has been launched and house-to-house enquiries have been carried out.
Detective Sergeant Simon Douch, from Wirral CID, said: “This was a nasty assault which left a man in hospital with a cut to his head.”
