ARSONISTS are believed to have caused a blaze that damaged a house in New Ferry on Wednesday.
Firefighters were called out to the incident in Napier Road just after 3.30pm.
Two sofas had been set alight outside the rear gable end of the property.
The heat caused a large amount of external rendering to fall from the house.
Investigators said it is suspected the fire was started deliberately.
Watch manager Dave Simpson of Bromborough fire station said: "We would urge people to ensure combustible waste materials and large unwanted household items are stored away from properties or are disposed of as soon as possible."
