AN eight-year-old Wirral boy was treated for hypothermia in hospital after the jet ski he was riding broke down on the River Mersey.
The boy and the man who had steered the vehicle were left drifting near to Fort Perch Rock lighthouse for half an hour before a concerned onlooker raised the alarm on Saturday afternoon. A crew from New Brighton Lifeboat station arrived at the scene to rescue them just after 4pm and they were both suffering the effects of cold.
On Sunday, the crew rescued a kite-surfer who went missing and was later found alive near to the shoreline in New Brighton.
