THEY may specialise in electricity but it was water that staff at a Wirral-based energy firm used to raise vital funds for charity last week.
Arming themselves with buckets and sponges, staff at SP Energy Network’s Prenton site held their very own charity car wash on Friday in aid of Claire House Children’s Hospice.
Jeff Fairclough, who works at the North Cheshire Trading Estate division, said: “Our district manager Jane Wilkie asked for suggestions for a fundraising event that the Wirral Zone office staff could participate in.
“We are hopng to raise the profile of the hospice, as well as raising some much-needed funds for them, as well as having fun in the process.”
The Bebington-based hospice currently looks after children, young adults and their families from across Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales, West Lancashire and the Isle of Man, and relies on the support of the community to be able to offer care to people that need it.
