A MURDER inquiry is underway after the body of 44-year-old Wirral woman Kay Diamond was found in a flat in Toxteth.
A post mortem has found that Ms Diamond, formerly of Greasby, died as a result of "blunt force trauma to the head."
Officers were called to the flat on Greenheys Gardens, Toxteth, at 10.20am on Saturday.
A spokesperson for the family said: “We are absolutely devastated by our loss and would ask to be left to grieve in peace.”
Investigations into the death are ongoing and two men, aged 52 years and 48 years from Toxteth, remain in police custody where they are being questioned by detectives.
Detectives are appealing to anyone who saw or heard anything in the hours before Ms Diamond was found, or who has any information which could help them with their investigation, to contact them.
Call police on 0151 777 4834 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
