DOZENS of tributes have been paid to a teenager who died in a crash in Wirral.

The 18-year-old from Prenton - named locally as Jack Byrne - died in hospital on Wednesday after a collision between a car and an off-road motorbike in Oxton.

Emergency services were called to Palm Grove at around 9pm on Wednesday to reports of a collision.

A tribute page on Facebook has had more than 2,600 likes with dozens of people leaving heartfelt messages for the tragic teen.

One person wrote: "Another lovely young man, taken far too soon, I had seen you since playgroup days Jack, but u still look the same. My thoughts r with all ur family. You have made a big impact on people's live and will leave a huge hole in ur families hearts. So so sorry jack. R.I.P fly high with the angels now. Xx"

Another said: "Heart goes out to all the family and friends very tragic accident he was so young and loved by many one say u will meet again though he will always be there with u yet u might not know but he's there rip and god bless."

Two teenagers, aged 18 and 17, who were on the bike were taken to hospital, where one was later pronounced dead.

The driver and passenger of the silver Peugeot involed in the collision suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.
