Sir Tony Robinson, the actor who played Baldrick in the Blackadder saga and has since served on Labour’s National Executive Committee, will visit the borough to back parliamentary candidate Margaret Greenwood’s campaign to win Wirral West for Labour.
He will read from his book ‘Pets’ part of his ‘Weird World of Wonders’ series to a group of parents, grandparents and children at Woodchurch Methodist Church.
Tony was knighted in the 2013 Birthday Honours for public and political service.
Ms Greenwood has campaigned to prevent the Dee Estuary from being exploited by fracking and underground coal gasification and has crossed swords with sitting Tory MP Esther McVey over the issue on several occasions.
