Within six months, the 15-year-old Calday Grange Grammar School student had landed himself the role of 'Jerome' in a production of South Pacific at the Liverpool Empire.

Since then, the talented teen has starred alongside a number of professional actors in Beauty and the Beast, Peter Pan, Aladdin and Fiddler on the Roof.

Despite competing in a number of sports, including gymnastics, Tae Kwon Do, football and trampolining, Nathan was drawn to dance and within a few years, he knew it was the path he wanted to follow.

“By the age of 10 I knew that I wanted a career in musical theatre, primarily dance,” said Nathan, who spends each night of the week at Hoylake School of Dance, as well as day on a Saturday.

“I have focused on this dream for nearly six years and I am really determined to succeed.”
After gaining high distinctions in ballet, tap and modern dance exams – the highest marks ever achieved at his dance school - Nathan set his sights on college, auditioning at The Urdang Academy in London, Laines Theatre Arts in Surrey and Performers College in Essex.

All three have since offered Nathan a place to start in September.

“It would be an absolutely dream come true for me to complete the diploma at any of these academies - it is something I have dreamed of and worked towards for the past five years – and hopefully start to work in the dance and musical theatre industry.”

Unfortunately, the costs involving in pursuing his dream are extremely high, with the courses ranging from £15,000 to £17,000 per year, in addition to the cost of accommodation, food and transport.

“I will not let finances ruin my dreams as I fully believe that everyone deserves a chance,” said Nathan.

“I am desperately trying to attract some sponsors who might be able to help with equipment/dance wear or if possible financial sponsorship.”

Nathan added: “I will do anything to make my goals a reality, I just need the chance to do so.”
