POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a fatal rush hour collision in Heswall.
Emergency services were called to Chester Road at around 5pm today, Wednesday, to a report of a crash between a coach and a car.
The driver of the car was taken to hospital for treatment where he unfortunately died.
Next of kin are being sought.
Police, paramedics and firefighters are at the scene.
Collision investigators are also at the scene and enquiries are being carried out to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
The coach driver is assisting investigators with their enquiries.
Both carriageways on Chester Road are currently closed between Boathouse Lane and Heswall. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area for the time being.
