POLICE searching for missing Wirral man Derek Jones have released a new photograph of him as his family become desperate to find him.

Derek was last seen living his home in Leasowe at around 1.40pm on Thursday, January 8.

The 46-year-old has not been seen by his family or been in contact with them since and they are growing increasingly concerned about him

Derek is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall, of stocky build which a balding head.

He was clean shaven at the time of his disappearance and was wearing a white cotton t-shirt, blue jeans, a black 'Penguin' padded jacket, blue Nike 90s trainers with a white sole, and a black woollen hat with a thin grey stripe on it.

Derek is known to frequent the areas of Moreton, Leasowe and Birkenhead.

Anyone who has seen a man resembling Derek or knows where he is should call Merseyside Police on the non-emergency 101 number or the Missing People charity on 116 000.
