A MOTORIST escaped unhurt after his car knocked down a set of traffic lights in Rock Ferry this morning.
Police were called to Bebington Road, at its junction of King's Road, at around 9am.
It is believed the driver had lost control of the Toyota Yaris, which then drove into the lights. The driver was checked by paramedics at the scene, but did not need hospital treatment.
Council engineers are at the scene, repairing the lights. The road has not been closed and police are managing traffic flow.
No other vehicle was involved.
An investigation is underway to establish what happened.
