MERSEYSIDE Police has issued an e-fit of a man they would like to speak to after a teenager was threatened at knife point to hand over their push bike in Birkenhead.

The 19-year-old was pushing his silver and green Whyte 605 bike along Watson Street at around 10.15pm on December 11 when two men pulled up alongside him in a small white van.

The van was - believed to be either a Fiat Fiorino or Peugeot Bipper – was branded with the words ‘landscape gardening’ and a dome-shaped logo on the side.

The passenger of the van got out of the vehicle and threatened the teenager with a knife, demanding he hand over his bike.

The bike was then put in the back of the van and the men drove off.

A full investigation into the incident is ongoing and officers are keen to speak to anyone who recognises the man in the e-fit or the van in the CCTV image.

The offender that got out of the van is described as being white with pale skin, aged 19 to 22, about 5ft 11in tall, bald and of medium build.

He was wearing a blue Adidas tracksuit top and navy coloured pants and spoke with a local accent.

Detective Inspector Justin Danher said: "The victim, although uninjured, was left extremely distressed by this incident.

“We take reports of this nature extremely seriously and we will do everything possible to identify the person responsible.

"I would urge anyone who may have witnessed this incident or anyone who recognises the man pictured in the e-fit, or the van in the CCTV image, to get in touch.”
