DETECTIVES need your help to find the owners of sports equipment that was recovered during dawn raids on homes in Prenton and Birkenhead.

The items were recovered by police from nine addresses on Thursday, November 13. The equipment, which includes a number of golf clubs, is believed to be connected to recent burglaries in the area.

Detective Inspector Paul Parry said: "We are keen to talk to anyone who recognises any of these goods to help us identify who the rightful owners are, to assist with our investigations in bringing the offenders to justice."

The recovered items include: Clothing and accessories made by Galvin Green, Greg Norman, Ping, Nike, Footjoy, Hugo Boss, Calvin Klein, Mizuno, Taylor Made and Adidas.

Among golf equipment is a golf bag, trolley and clubs.

Eight men, aged 16 to 43-years-old were arrested on suspicion of burglary and have been bailed, pending further investigation.

The early morning raids were part of Merseyside Police’s three-month long operation that launched in September to tackle burglary.

Seven of the warrants executed on Wirral were in response to a number of recent thefts at golf shops.
