TRANMERE Rovers' boss Micky Adams says his squad is prepared for what promises to a 'difficult' game against Southend this weekend.

Saturday's match at Prenton Park will be the 49th time the two clubs have met with Rovers holding a 21 wins to 13 advantage.

Rovers left Kenilworth Road empty-handed last weekend after losing 1-0 to Luton.

Assessing this weekend's opponents during a press conference at the club, Micky Adams said: "As a second division side they are up there.

"They've got a lot of decent players and a good manager who knows the game.

"On paper, it's going to be a difficult game, but we are looking forward to it."

Adams has added to the squad this week by signing Hull City pair Calaum Jahraldo-Martin and Will Aimson on one-month contracts.

Striker Jahraldo-Martin, 21, joined Hull from Dulwich Hamlet in 2013. The Antigua and Barbuda international has made two first team appearances and has been a regular in Hull’s Under 21s side this season.

Aimson, a 20-year-old defender, signed for Hull from Eastleigh three years ago. He spent time on loan at Tamworth last season. Both have signed on loan at Prenton Park until January 1.

Adams said: "Calaum and Will are two talented young players who will add to competition for places and freshen things up.

"I'd like to thank Hull City for allowing them to join us.”

Also coming to Prenton Park, on a two-month contract of striker Guy Madjo on a two month contract subject to international clearance.

The 30-year old has spent the past month on trial at Prenton Park and played for the reserves last week. Madjo, from Cameroon, began his professional career with Bristol City in 2005-06.

He has since spent time at Crawley Town, Shrewsbury Town, Stevenage, Aldershot, Plymouth Argyle and Port Vale, scoring six times for then manager Micky Adams.

He most recently played for Grakcu Looktabfah Pathumthani FC in Thailand.

Micky Adams said: "Guy is a hardworking, enthusiastic striker who will add competition for places."
