A TEENAGER was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries after falling out of a window during a police chase in Wallasey.

The 17-year-old was one of two men arrested on suspicion of cannabis cultivation following an incident in Martins Lane on Friday. He was arrested along with an 18-year-old man. Both have been bailed pending further inquiries.

At around 8pm on Friday, two community support officers were on patrol in the area when they saw two men acting suspiciously.

They were seen to be loading what appeared to be a quantity of gardening equipment from a house into a vehicle. Both men made off and officers managed to detain one man.

Returning to the property, police found a third man at the rear, who had tried to make his escape through an upstairs window.

As a result of his fall, the 17-year-old suffered injuries and was taken to hospital where his condition is described as serious but not life-threatening.

A full investigation is underway and detectives are continuing their search for the third man.
