Viewers to BBC1 next week will see a popular daytime television show taking place in familiar surroundings.
The BBC’s ‘Flog It’ show, scheduled for broadcast at 4.30pm on Wednesday, November 19, was filmed at Wallasey Town Hall in March this year.
Hundreds of Wirral people had taken along antiques and collectables they were interested in selling.
Presented by Paul Martin, the programme regularly achieves an audience in excess of 2m and this was the first time it had been filmed in Wirral.
Louise Hibbins, ‘Flog It’ producer, said: “Paul Martin and the entire Flog It team were really pleased to bring the show to Wallasey.
"We had never been to the Wirral peninsula before and we were made to feel very welcome at the town hall. Thanks to everyone who came along for the valuation event and also thanks to everyone who helped make it happen.”
‘Flog It’ works a bit like a treasure hunt.
Members of the public bring along up to three antiques and collectables they might be interested in selling. Once valued, the owner and a team of experts decide whether an item should go forward for auction.
The items chosen at the Wallasey event were included in a sale at a Liverpool auction house a few weeks later.
To find out what items were chosen by the experts and how much they achieved for their owners when the auctioneer’s hammer fell, you will need to tune in to the episode next week.
