MERSEYSIDE police have joined in the search for a prisoner who went missing from prison in Doncaster two months ago.
John Charles Byrne, 34, was last seen at 8.15am on Saturday, August 2, leaving HMP Hatfield, Doncaster, on day release. He did not return at 6.30pm.
Police believe Byrne is in the Merseyside area as he has connections to this part of the country.
Despite extensive enquiries, he has still not been located.
John is described as approximately 6ft tall and of medium build. He has brown/green eyes with fair shaven hair.
He is currently serving a sentence for drugs and firearms offences.
Anyone who sees John should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 1001 of August 2, 2014.
