POLICE are introducing a "dispersal zone" in part of Leasowe this weekend following reports of anti-social behaviour.

The dispersal zone will apply to an area bounded by Twickenham Drive, Cameron Road and Kingham Close and will apply from 6pm tonight, Friday, until 5pm on Sunday.

Powers under the new Anti-Social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act (2014), will allow officers to direct an individual to leave the dispersal zone immediately for up to 48 hours.

If that person refuses to leave or leaves and then returns, they can be arrested.
