PORT Sunlight Museum will be transformed into a dark, scary, spine tingling place for a night of folk tales and Halloween stories.

Presented by Tom Hughes, Creepy stories - taking place on Friday, October 31 - will be filled with witches' tricks, betrayals, ghostly musicians and goblins.

Tom is a storyteller who has been sharing folk tales in castles, churches, and historic houses across the UK for many years.

His interest is in the lesser known stories of the tradition and shorter tales rather than the epics, with Tom performing six or seven tales within an hour.

His storytelling style is full of local folklore and draws the audience into the action, often including tunes played on traditional instruments to add atmosphere.

Tom said: "I am looking forward to presenting my tales to those brave enough to enter this most charming and historical museum, it is perfect for the ambiance of the night.

"I am a firm believer that stories are not just for children and this show is aimed at adults and teenagers who will enjoy these thought provoking and sometimes unsettling tales.

"There is a long tradition of telling ghost stories during long winter nights and what better time than Halloween?"

Amongst the creepy events of these tales, the audience will encounter boggarts, wishes gone wrong and the dead returning.

Tickets for Tom's Creepy Tales are from Port Sunlight Museum or 0151 644 6466. Booking is essential.

Definitely not suitable for under 12’s this night of fright.
