"HAUNTED" catacombs in New Brighton have been transformed into a spooky house of horrors to raise funds for Claire House.

Boys and ghouls of all ages are invited to visit Terror 13 - its entrance is situated in the alleyway between the Floral Pavilion theatre and Brightspot Arcade.

The brainchild of horror film buff Leigh Bufton, it will be open from this Thursday, October 30 to Monday, November 3, between the hours of 6pm and 9.30pm.

It has already been open for six nights over the last two weeks and The Globe has also been on a tour of this year’s ghoulish gallery of eerie exhibits.

But for those of you who haven't already been, we don't want to give away too much about what awaits.

All we can tell you is that the chilling characters will be performed by Leigh's family, friends and colleagues.

One of the horrors awaiting visitors to Terror 13.

Leigh had transformed his Eastham home into a house of horror, but the time came to find a new venue and Terror 13 was a perfect choice.

Leigh said: "I had great fun opening up the house and the exhibtion went down very well with the public.

"But it was time to take the show to the next level and the underground site is perfect."

Leigh added: "Like any good horror sequel, this year's attraction promises to be bigger, better – and certainly more terrifying – than ever.

"I'm looking forward to welcoming fearless visitors to what I hope will be a fun Hallowe'en experience.

"I've heard that the place is haunted by the ghost of a grey lady. Whether you believe it or not, I'm sure ghostly tales like this will add to the atmosphere."
