THE traditional sounds of Celtic folk will fill New Brighton’s Floral Pavilion this month when the Wirral Coastal Irish Festival takes place.
In recognition and celebration of the links we have with Ireland, Celtic Roots Community Music Academy will be running a series of musical workshops for all members of the community.
The festival takes place from October 27 to October 29.
Workshops include family and adult courses and a three-day course for children to experience and learn to play a range of Celtic musical instruments including tin whistle, bodhran, fiddle, Irish flute, accordion, ukulele and mandolin.
Dance, drama and art workshops will also run, with all abilities and standards catered for.
Lesley-Ann Wood, managing director of Celtic Roots, said: “Our aim is to deliver an exciting, vibrant and fun approach to exploring the common links we have with Ireland.
“The children will learn about the cultural heritage and Celtic traditions through music, dance, art and drama and storytelling.”
