WIRRAL Citizens Advice Bureau has slashed the cost of calls to advice lines.

It follows a switch from the old "084" numbers to the cheaper "03" rate.

The move will improve access for to contacting the bureau by phone and provides lower and simpler call charges, especially for mobile phone users.

The new number is 03444 77 2121.

Damon Taylor, chief executive of Wirral CAB, said: "Making this change will improve access for our clients.

"Many are already dealing with difficult issues when they speak to us and by moving to this new number we are ensuring that expensive call charges will be on less thing to worry about."

The telephone advice line enables people to receive the same level of assistance as they would at the bureau's face-to-face sessions.

Wirral CAB has three offices based at Wallasey, Birkenhead and Heswall, as well as providing outreach services at several other sites across Wirral.
