FORMER Coronation Street star Tupele Dorgu heads the cast of the Floral Pavilion’s pantomime Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs.

The actress – who played Kelly Crabtree in the ITV soap – plays the Wicked Queen in the production, staged at the riverside venue from December 11 to January 4.

Also in the cast are children’s television presenter Olivia Birchenhough, a host on Channel 5's Milkshake, and director Chris Pizzey as Muddles. Stephen David plays Nursie. Supporting them are, of course, the seven dwarfs.

The show was launched in front of a very enthusiastic audience of 150 pupils from New Brighton Primary School this week. The children are currently studying tales at school.

Following the launch Preston-born Tupele – who played Kelly on Corrie for five years and runs an entertainment agency - told the Globe: "We've all trodden the boards many times before – we're definitely panto veterans.

"It's my first time in New Brighton and the Floral Pavilion is a lovely theatre."

She continued: "We had a great reaction from the children in the audience today.

"It's lovely to have a reception as warm and enthusiastic as that.

"We hope the reaction will be even bigger when we take to the stage to do the show for real in December.”

Tickets for the show, are from www.floralpavilion.com or 0151 666 0000.

The Globe has four family tickets to give away. Each ticket admits four people to the evening performance on Saturday, December 13, which starts at 7pm.
