A SEA cadet unit has launched an appeal for funds to revamp the stonework of its century-old headquarters.
Wallasey Sea Cadets, based in St James Hall, New Brighton, need £30,000 to refurbish the exterior of the building.
The unit has approached the Veolia Environment Trust for a grants towards the cost and support has been pledged by Wirral’s mayor Cllr Steve Foulkes and local councillors.
Ian Calder, unit vice-chairman, said: "Support from the public could make the difference between success and failure.
“I would appeal to ex-cadets, parents and friends who support our work to help young people to email wallaseyscc@tiscali.co.uk or write to Wallasey Sea Cadets, TS Astute, St James Hall, Victoria Road, New Brighton CH45 9LD."
