ENTERTAINERS from across Merseyside will gather in Birkenhead Park next month for an afternoon of family fun celebrating the town's community spirit.

The Cup Of Sugar Festival, on September 6, will bring together a whole host of local bands and musicians, dancers and performers and a range of activities for kids including circus skills workshops, fete games and a bouncy castle.

Kids can try spinning plates, balancing the tightrope, taking part in drama workshops, and racing along a 40ft obstacle course.

Local crafters and artists will be selling a selection of their handicrafts. Kids and parents can go head to head in a whole host of different sports organised by Everton in the Community.

Performers will include Insanity Beach, Problem Child, Local Lads Make Good, Firefly, Funkstar Dance.

The festival, takes place from noon-5pm, is organised by Options for Supported Living, who provide person centred support to people with disabilities across Merseyside.
