WIRRAL'S parks and green spaces have again been recognised as among the UK's best.
The annual Green Flag Awards have also added two new names to the list – increasing the peninsula’s Green Flags total to 17.
Central Park, Wallasey and Victoria Gardens, West Kirby have both been awarded Green Flag Awards, acknowledgement that the parks ares well-maintained, well-managed with excellent facilities.
Cllr Chris Meaden, cabinet member for leisure, sport and culture, said: "Wirral's parks and green spaces are so important for the identity of the borough.
"Maintaining them requires a huge team effort, with staff from Wirral Council’s parks and countryside service, volunteers and our Friends Groups all playing key roles in keeping them up to a high standard.
"I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped to achieve Green Flag Awards for our beloved parks and green spaces."
