MODELS took to the catwalk at a Wirral shopping centre in two fashion shows that have raised hundreds of pounds for a teenage cancer charity.

The event was organised by fashion stylist Louisa Houghton and was held at Our Beautiful Life boutique, her store in the Pyramids, Birkenhead.

While she and her five-strong team took care of the high fashion clothing on display, staff from two nearby businesses came in to lend strong support.

Louisa, 35, is also co-owner of Frame modelling and casting agency and models from her books came down for the day.

The figure raised is not yet known as money is still being counted.

Louisa said: "The Body Shop in Pyramids agreed to do all the make-up for the fashion show and as The Teenage Cancer Trust is currently the Body Shop’s national chosen charity, they are the ones we decided to raise money for from the event. It's a very worthy cause and I was delighted to help.

"There was lots of interest in what we were doing from Pyramids shoppers and the boutique was full on both for both shows.

"We haven’t got the final total yet but from the shows and a raffle we held later we’ve raised quite a few hundred pounds.

"I'm now working on ideas for a further fashion event which will possibly be in September or October and will raise money for a local charity.”
