A GROUP of Wirral artisans have pulled together to create a pop up shop aimed at adding an extra splash of culture to Hoylake as the Open Golf returns to the town.

The Hoylake and West Kirby Creatives – made up of artists from a variety of mediums – will set up shop in Hoylake Chapel’s gift shop between July 14 and 20 to showcase and describe the collective talent of Wirral.

The Creatives are made up of professional landscape photographer Marianthi Lainas, contemporary illustrator Elaine Hackett, textile artist Jenny Dunlop, photographer Clare Bates, woodcrafters Stuart and Rose Treasurer and designer and illustrator Helen Bennett.

More than 200,000 people are expected to descend on Wirral for the prestigious tournament next week and the group will be selling handcrafted gifts and mementos from early to late throughout the iconic event.

Photographer Clare said: “We are all extremely excited about this fantastic event and proud to be promoting the fantastic local talent to our regional, national and international golf visitors. We hope to see you there.”

Posters and banned have been popping up across Hoylake and West Kirby and the group have been spreading the news of the shop through social media.

The group hopes the umbrella title can be used for a wider membership of local talent for future events.
