A CHARITY Bikers’ Bikeshow in aid of the Air Ambulance takes place this weekend.

Organised by The Cow Shed Crew, the annual family event takes place at the Shippons Inn in Thingwall Road, Irby, on Saturday, July 12 from 11am.

The event had been planned to take place in May but after five years of glorious sunshine, this year’s event hit a brick wall after heavy rainfall.

But after rescheduling, organisers have said that come rain or shine, Saturday’s ride will go ahead.

Last year 60 bikes were on display. The annual prize for Best Bike In Show is £100 cash and a trophy. There is no charge for entry.

Organiser Mike Ireland said: “It’s an annual event and all the family are welcome.

“It’s a “Show Us Yours” bikeshow and we have vintage, classic, restorations and modern rides arriving throughout the day.

“This is an opportunity for you to bring along and show your bike. Proud of it, then bring it. Shows yours, see others and talk bikes.”

Police and fire bikes will be on display and there will be representatives from Bikesafe, ROSPA, WAM and Blood Bikes.

There will also be stalls and children’s entertainment with a bouncy castle and a vintage steam train.

The fun continues into the event with a set from rock band Rigsby’s Cat.

The Best Bike In Show will be judged between midday and 3pm. Your bike needs to be at the show by noon to be in with a chance of winning.
